Minor Surgery

21Oct08

I performed some minor surgery on my main control board, namely drilling 2 new holes and soldering in a 10K resistor. This appears to have resolved the issue where the control box PICAXE hung when the grant was unplugged. It must be one of those things that they cite in the literature that I missed, or something people just come to know when dealing with serial communication, but grounding the 28X1 input with a 10K pull-down resistor keeps the pin from floating and incorrectly registering phantom serial communication, which prevents the SERIN command from properly applying the timeout interval.

A few other minor code tweaks later and the pump skid control box seems to be pretty rock-solid. I will have to take it out for a test drive on my next beer.
