I often get asked what I use to when I home brew. As such, I figured I’d list my major equipment items and (wherever possible) the vendor from which they were purchased.

Mashing & Brewing

  • 10 Polarware brew pot (MoreBeer)
  • 14 gallon modified Italian with false bottom and 6″ thermometer (MoreBeer, no longer available) as mash tun
  • 2 15 gallon Heavy Duty brew pots with 2″ thermometer + one false bottom (for boil kettle) (MoreBeer)
  • 1 “Ultimate Sparge Arm” customized with float switch and electronics (MoreBeer)
  • 26 gallon heavy duty kettle w/ 2″ thermometer, 3-piece valve, and false bottom (MoreBeer)
  • 28 gallon modified Italian kettle w/ false bottom and 6″ thermometer (MoreBeer, no longer available)
  • 28 gallon modified Italian kettle w/ sight glass (MoreBeer, no longer available)
  • 1 customized Hop Back converted into a Grant outfitted with w/ 2 float switches and electronics (MoreBeer)
  • 1 Camp Chef 60K BTU burner (Purchased through MoreBeer)
  • 1 Cajun Cooker 55K BTU burner (Home Depot)
  • 50ft 1/2″ copper “Superchiller” immersion chiller (MoreBeer)
  • Crankandstein 3D Mill (Direct from Crankandstein), motorized with a Beefy Bodine 151RPM 3/4 HP motor
  • 2 Stainless Chugger Pumps and custom control box

Fermenting:

Bottling / kegging:

    • 4 3 gallon cornelius kegs (Not available anymore)
    • 14 5 gallon cornelius kegs (mostly from Adventures in Homebrewing)
    • 1 benchtop capper (MoreBeer)
    • 1 Italian floor corker (MoreBeer)
    • 1 counter pressure bottle filler (MoreBeer)

Oodles of 12oz, 22oz and 750ml belgian bottles (Mostly donated by friends)
